Biometric

Enhance Business Security by Investing in Biometrics Today

When your employees are clocking in and out for work, they are sometimes required to scan their fingerprints on a biometric device near the doorway. This is done not just to identify the exact time they arrived and left the office, but also to ensure that they are indeed authorized to get inside the company premises.

At Internet of Things Philippines Inc., we offer a wide-range of biometric devices that you can use for your business. Rest easy knowing that our products can help you double-check that only authorized individuals are on your company premises.

Various Biometric Identifiers Available

There are many biometric identifiers used by companies. Here are some of the most common examples:

Fingerprint

Fingerprint recognition is the most widely used biometric identifier. If you have a fingerprint reader, your employees simply need to scan their thumb or index finger on the device if they want to enter a specific area or clock in for work. There are instances when a person’s fingerprint cannot be recognized, and in these cases, the guard near the entrance will be notified. They will check if the issue is the employee’s fingerprint, biometric devices issue or if an intruder is trying to break in.

Face

Biometric scanners can identify faces, too. Facial recognition devices are now being used in many companies because they are more efficient than iris and fingerprint readers. Since they are faster, they eliminate bottlenecks near the entrance and prevent employees from arriving late for work.

Iris

There are patterns in a person’s irises as well, and they are completely unique to each individual. Compared to fingerprint devices, iris scanners are generally safer and more hygienic because they reduce contact with surfaces. The downside, however, is that they are also typically more expensive. Iris recognition is recommended for organizations which require maximum security and accuracy.
